AFTER is a proof of concept film for a science fiction web series. It was made in late 2013 and early 2014, and released in August 2014.  Written, directed and edited by Tobin Herringshaw, AFTER came about when Tobin moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and started a DSLR filmmaking Meetup group.  The first project the group decided to make was AFTER, with many members playing key roles in the crew and cast. AFTER was funded by a successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, and through the partnership and generosity of Rik Parker, the executive producer of the film.

 

AFTER tells the story of Emily, a suburban mom who wakes up ten years after a world-wide alien attack that leaves only pockets of humanity alive. Before the attack, Emily and thousands more, were abducted, biologically altered, and put back on Earth to help destroy mankind with superhuman abilities. But these altered people, who each have a glowing mark on their neck, were killed off after the aliens suddenly left. Emily is the last one and must keep her identity secret while resisting the violent urges that come with her altered state. Dark, gritty, action packed, AFTER is a story about trust, tragedy and failure.

 

The inspiration for AFTER comes from J.J. Abram's hit television series Lost and Cormac McCarthy's The Road.
